About Us
BELIEVE. BELONG. BECOME.
Welcome to Robbinsdale Academy - Highview! Our curriculum and environment are beneficial for students whom thrive with smaller class sizes and increased flexibility in a hands-on learning environment. This school feels like a supportive extended family that ensures equitable and respectful experiences for everyone.
PERSONALIZED LEARNING, MENTORING
At Robbinsdale Academy - Highview, you will find staff who understand and
accommodate the many experiences students bring to school: a learning
difference, a job, or many other factors. We design our curriculum to offer
maximum support for students as they reach for and attain their goals.
- Each student works with an advisor to develop personal goals and a pathway to achieve them.
- Students learn hands-on, real-world skills that prepare them directly for success in work, a trade, or education after high school. In fact, many Highview students enroll concurrently at Hennepin Technical College, where they receive both high school and college credit.
- In our accelerated program, students can progress faster than in a traditional high school, ensuring they stay engaged in learning.
THE HIGHVIEW EXPERIENCE
Students have a four block schedule over five cycles, which allows students to accelerate credits at a faster rate than a typical high school. Students are able earn credits through credit recovery as a block built into their day.
HENNEPIN TECHNICAL COLLEGE
Through a partnership with Robbinsdale Area Schools, Hennepin Technical College (HTC) has developed programming of special interest to Highview students. The school provides transportation to the HTC campus where, in addition to attending classes, students can use the library, meet with professors, and generally get a solid start on college. A Highview staff member is available on site at HTC to help students navigate and build college skills.
CAREER AND TECHNICAL CLASSES
Highview students can attend on-site career fairs and take classes in their desired career area at HTC, North Hennepin Community Technical College and Minneapolis College.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Students with jobs are able to earn elective credit for their work hours and assigned curriculum. Students who would like a job receive assistance applying for jobs at employers with open positions.
FULL SERVICE COMMUNITY SCHOOL
Highview is part of a full-service community school (FSCS), which means we focus on academics, health, social services, youth development, and community engagement to improve student learning and strengthen families and communities.
Robbinsdale Academy-Highview 2024-25 SIP
A School Improvement Plan (SIP) identifies academic and priority goals along with strategies for each school. School leadership creates these plans annually to define their school's targeted work to raise achievement and prepare every student to graduate.
