Voters to decide on capital projects levy renewal
In April, the Robbinsdale Area Schools Board of Education unanimously approved a plan to ask voters to consider a capital projects levy renewal on the Nov. 5 ballot. While the original levy, which was first supported by the community in 2014, specifically supported district technology upgrades, the district proposes to dedicate nearly two-thirds of the renewed funds to technology and one-third to providing safety and security upgrades to district schools.
The good news: the levy renewal will be tax-neutral for taxpayers. The district proposes to keep the tax rate the same. After a period of community engagement, this summer the Board of Education will finalize language to be placed on the ballot.
