October is Bullying Prevention Month; Rdale to celebrate Unity Day Oct. 16

October is Bullying Prevention Month, and Robbinsdale Area Schools (Rdale) is committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment for all students.

Through the use of Second Step's Bullying Prevention Program, elementary students in October and throughout the school year learn crucial skills to identify, prevent, and respond to bullying. This evidence-based curriculum empowers students to recognize harmful behaviors and encourages them to build respectful and inclusive relationships.

In recognition of Unity Day on Oct. 16, the district (Rdale) invites staff, students, and families to wear orange as a symbol of solidarity against bullying. Unity Day, organized by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center, aims to unite communities nationwide in kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.

Also in October, visitors will see anti-bullying posters in our buildings with a link to the Rdale bullying reporting form, which provides a quick and easy way for staff, students, and families to report an incident.

Together, we can make a difference in creating a positive and safe school climate for every student.
