Robert Ware named MASSP Hennepin High School Principal of the Year

Excitement and surprise were Robert Ware’s first emotions upon learning he had been named the 2025 Hennepin Division High School Principal of the Year by the Minnesota Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP).

Now in his third year as principal of Robbinsdale Academy - Highview and Robbinsdale Virtual Academy (RVA), Ware has made a lasting impact on both school communities through his leadership, dedication, and student-centered approach.

“This award is for all of us at Highview and RVA,” said Ware. “I want to sincerely thank my administration team and our dedicated staff—their support has been instrumental in the success of both schools. Their constant commitment to doing what’s best for our students remains at the heart of everything we do. This recognition is a reflection of the collective effort, passion, and dedication we bring every day."

The MASSP award honors exceptional leadership in secondary education, recognizing principals who demonstrate innovation, commitment to student success, and service to the broader educational community. The Hennepin Division award celebrates a high school principal who goes above and beyond for students, staff, and families.

“Being a part of our youth’s journey as they work toward achieving their goals is incredibly rewarding and one of the key reasons I became an educator. I also truly appreciate our dedicated staff at Highview and RVA—they work extremely hard to support our students and partner with parents to ensure success for all.”

Ware will be recognized, along with other division honorees, at the MASSP Summer Conference Banquet and Awards Program at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24.

MASSP is a professional educational association of over 1,300 active and retired secondary and middle school administrators who seek to grow professionally and to effect positive change in the world today. Within the eight MASSP divisions, the Hennepin Division is the largest with over 400 active principals.
