Welcome to Robbinsdale Academy - Highview

Dear Robbinsdale Academy Highview Parents and Guardians,

On behalf of the staff at Robbinsdale Academy Highview, we are excited to welcome you to the 2024-25 school year. I am Robert Ware, Principal at Robbinsdale Academy Highview and RVA. I am thrilled to kick start the school year. Our focus right from the start is to build a strong partnership with our families so we can work together to ensure our students can have a strong foundation. As partners, we want our students to be successful and reach their full potential. In order for students to be successful in high school, the partnership is vital. We share this responsibility with you as the parents/guardians. When students know and understand that the school and the parents are working together it helps build consistency within the student’s academics. We ask that you partner with us to support your student’s learning by ensuring that your student does the following:

  • Attend school everyday and be on time. Being ready to learn each day is key. 

  • Login to their Schoology account daily.

  • Login to their school issued email daily. 

  • Login and stay current with your Edgenuity courses. 

  • Complete all homework assignments, and assessments given by the teachers.

  • Reach out to their teachers right away if they feel that they need additional support in any of their courses.

  • Follow all school expectations daily. 

We also ask that our parents/guardians do the following:

  • Check your email daily to stay connected with communication from Robbinsdale Academy Highview and your student’s teachers. 

  • If you receive an attendance call from the school do not ignore it!  Contact the office for more information.

  • Make sure that all phone numbers and emergency contacts are correct. 

  • Read the weekly newsletter that goes out to parents to stay current and updated.

  • Stay connected with your student’s advisory teacher and track grades/credits.

  • Attend conferences.

  • Partner with us when it comes to cell phones during the school hours: Technology Guidelines

First Day of School:

  • 8:35 a.m. - 3:25 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 3

  • Students will check in during the first week of school with the admin as they enter the building to make sure that we have an updated school picture in Infinite Campus (IC).  All Highview students will take a photo which will go into IC.  This is used to help with school security, and for teachers to put a name to a face for attendance purposes. 

  • Students will need to bring their computer and charger to school everyday. 

  • Students will follow their class schedule daily. 

  • No Off Campus Lunch for Cycle 1: Students will have access to school lunch, bringing lunch from home, or they can order food during the lunch period time. 

Walk-in Wednesday

  • Walk-in Wednesdays are designed for RVA online students to have an opportunity to meet and work with their online teachers. Highview students that are in 12th grade and some 11th graders who have been cleared do not have to report to Highview on Wednesdays but are highly encouraged to continue working on their courses online from home or come in to meet with a teacher to get extra support. 10th grade students should report to Highview on Wednesdays to receive extra supports. This will start Wednesday, Sept. 18.

  • Highview students that work off site or at home should follow their normal class schedule. Students can follow up with their teacher through email.  

  • Highview students who wish to take any prescriptive test or receive one-on-one support from staff must make a request through their advisory teacher no later than Monday of the same week.  This will give staff time to prepare for students that wish to join the Walk-in Wednesday.   

  • Attendance will be taken on Wednesdays. Students will have to fill out the Google Form by noon, to be counted as present for the school day.

  • Cycle 1: Sept. 3 to Oct. 25

  • Cycle 2: Oct. 28 to Dec. 20

  • Cycle 3: Jan. 6 to Feb. 21

  • Cycle 4: Feb. 25 to April 17

  • Cycle 5: April 22 to June 4
